Chelsea Loft
2025 In a former fur district loft building on the northern edge of Chelsea, we reimagined a nondescript three bedroom apartment to create a home tailored for a couple that works from home and entertains frequently. Removing the wall that previously separated the kitchen from the living spaces created a dramatic proscenium for the preparation of elaborate meals, one of the couple's favorite pastimes. The larger ancillary bedroom became an office with lounge area, while the smaller became a cozy workspace and podcast studio. Inspired by the terrazzo on the kitchen island, we created an understated color palette of warm grays, oyster whites, whites, and buffs - shot through with charcoal gray. In the primary bath, stacked gray tiles were planned with the precision of a perspective drawing grid, lit overhead with a seamless LED panel - all reflected in the wall of mirrors above the custom vanity.
